چکیده

ABSTRACT: This study showed the effect of feed restriction on performance, nitrogen balance (NB), microbial protein synthesis, carcass traits and meat cut thirty-two Sindhi non-castrated males (296 ± 21.3 kg initial BW 21 1.5 months old). All bulls were distributed in a completely randomized design with four treatments (feed levels) (0, 15, 30, 45% total dry matter -DM) data subjected to analysis variance regression. Nutrient intake, NB, final BW, gain, feeding efficiency, hot cold weight, subcutaneous fat thickness, commercial cuts tissue decreased linearly (P<0.05) by level. A linear increased digestibility DM, NDFap, carbohydrates proportion muscle tissue, as well quadratic increase non-fibrous bone percentage level imposed (P<0.05). The did not affect (P>0.05) crude protein, synthesis deposition longissimus dorsi area + fat/bone ratio. reduced intake consequently bulls; however, it promoted reduction N excretion, which can be important if conducted subsequent compensatory weight gain.

Effects of water restriction on growth performance, feed nutrient digestibility, carcass and meat traits of rabbits.

The study investigates the effects of a post-weaning water restriction on performance, nutrient digestibility, carcass traits and meat quality of 84-day-old rabbits. A total of 1388 weaned rabbits (35 days) were randomly divided into two groups on the basis of BW and sex. The two groups were fed the same diets ad libitum both in the post-weaning (35 to 60 days) and fattening (61 to 84 days) per...

Net Feed Intake of Growing Bulls and Relationships with Performance, Fertility and Ultrasound Composition Traits

Net feed intake (NFI) is a moderately heritable feed efficiency trait that has been shown to be genetically independent of ADG and BW in beef cattle. Objectives of this study were to characterize NFI in growing bulls, and to examine phenotypic correlations between NFI and performance, body composition, and fertility traits. Net feed intake was positively correlated phenotypically with feed conv...

Residual Feed Intake: Animal Performance, Carcass Quality and Body Composition

Feed efficiency has a major influence on the unit cost of beef cattle production. Gibb and McAllister (1999) have reported that a 5% improvement in feed efficiency has an economic impact four times greater than a 5% improvement in average daily gain. In addition, the cost of feed is second only to fixed costs in importance to the profitability of commercial beef operations (Basarab, 1999). The ...

Performance, residual feed intake, digestibility, carcass traits, and profitability of Angus-Hereford steers housed in individual or group pens.

Even though the concept of residual feed intake (RFI) is well accepted, several questions remain regarding other traits that may be associated with selection for decreased RFI. These include DM digestibility, carcass composition, profitability, and performance. The objective of this study was to investigate the difference in those traits between low- and high-RFI cattle. Sixty Angus x Hereford ...

Effects of Feed Restriction on Production Performance and Carcass Characteristics of Koekoek Chickens in Ethiopia

This study was conducted to examine the effects of feed restriction on production performance as well as traits relating to egg and carcass yield in Potchefstroom Koekoek dual purpose chicken bred under Ethiopian conditions. A total of 240 one-day-old dual purpose Koekoek chicks were randomly distributed into 12 experimental pens, representing 4 feeding treatments to evaluate the performance of...
